Maryville City Council approves 5K, parade, De-Icer, & Special Use Permit

The City of Maryville City Council met last night and approved a request to hold the Speedy Spoofhound 5K Fun Run in April and Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Parade in December. The council approved a contract with SNI Solutions for the purchase of a De-Icer for the Street Maintenance Division of Public Works.

Maryville City Manager, Greg McDanel, says the Council also approved a Special Use Permit for the former Assembly of God Church building.

"Rebecca Wyatt was approved for a Special Use Permit at 921 E. 3rd Street - that's the former Assembly of God Church - for a spiritual-based substance abuse counseling center.  This facility will operate during certain hours and there will not be a residential component.  So at this time, the Council identifies this as a community need and approved this Special Use Permit with those conditions."
